Growing up: things I want to remember

It is true that when you have children the perception of time speeds up. It is amazing how fast they grow up! Throughout these three years, our little Liam has gone from a baby to a toddler and during this time he has achieved great challenges of the different stages of growth.

All these steps are unique and joyful moments that one thinks will remember forever. Well, yes and no, because my memory is not very good and I cannot remember when he had his first tooth, for example. Therefore, and besucase I want Liam to have this information when he is older, I decided to write down moments to remember. Here are a few:

Es verdad que cuando tienes un hijo la percepción del paso del tiempo se dispara. Es increíble lo rápido que crecen! A lo largo de estos tres años, nuestro pequeño Liam ha pasado de bebé a niño y durante este trayectoria ha ido alcanzando grandes retos-logros típicos de las diferentes fases del crecimiento.

Todos ellos, para los papás, son momentos únicos y de alegría que crees que recordarás toda la vida. Pues bien, si y no, porque mi memoria no da para mucho y no puedo recordar cuándo le salió su primer diente, por ejemplo. Por ello, y porque me gustaría que él cuando sea mayor pueda tener esta información, he decidido dejar por escrito momentos para recordar. Ahí van unos cuantos:

1. Fuera chupete (tutti): Pensábamos que sería algo difícil de lograr y no fue así en absoluto. A principios de año, a Liam le aparecieron unas pequeñas llagas en la boca. Nada importante, pero muy molestas para el peque. Hasta comer le molestaba! Así que dejó de usar el chupete y desde entonces ¡¡no lo ha vuelto a pedir!!

1. No more pacifier (tutti): We thought it will be something difficult to achieve but it was not at all. Earlier this year, Liam had some mouth sore. Nothing important but very annoying for him.  He was not even bothered to eat. So he stopped using the pacifier and since then he has not ask for it!

2. Fuera biberón (bi): Cuando dejé de darle el pecho, lo que desayunaba cada mañana era un biberón de leche con cereales. Le encantaba!! Nada más despertarse, cuando empezó a chapurrear algunas palabras, lo primero que nos decía era "bi", pidiendo su biberón de desayuno. Cuando se lo dábamos, se lo tomaba del tirón! A la vuelta de las vacaciones de Navidad del 2013-2014 sin motivo alguno, dejó de pedirlo. Se lo ofrecíamos y nos decía que no quería. Desde entonces, desayuna "Lacao".

2. No more bottle (bi): When I stopped breast feeding, his breakfast consisted in a bottle full of milk and some cereals. He loved it so much! His first words after waking up were"bi"claiming his bottle. He drank it all in one gulp. Around Christmas 2013-2014 and for no reason, he stopped asking for his bottle. We kept offering it to him for a few days and he always said no. Since then, his breakfast is a "Lacao".

3. Fuera pañal (nappy): Esto es lo que nos ha costado más. Hasta hace 4 meses, Liam no quería saber nada del asunto. Le compramos hace tiempo un orinal que nunca ha usado. Era mirarlo y salir corriendo. Lo sentábamos en el wáter y gritaba muy enfadado... En la guardería nos decían que sí que quería usarlo como sus compañeros, pero en casa no había manera. El pasado mes de abril, vino mi madre a hacernos una visita y ella se lo quitó. Sólo hemos tenido tres "escapes" y desde el principio no necesitamos ni ponérselo por las noches. Gracias, abu!!

3. No more nappy: This issue was more difficult. 4 months ago, he did not want to hear about no wearing them. We bought a potty that he has never used. He used to look at it and run away! We sat him on the urinary and he shouted  angrily... By that time, he used the urinaries in the creche but no at home. Last April, my mother came to visit us for a few days and she convinced him to go with no nappy. We have only had three "leaks" and from the beginning he did not need it  over night. Liam, you are a champion!! Thank you, Abu!
