Home alone

This week reality knocks at the door. I am not referring to a return to the routine after the summer holidays (we did not have vacation this year) but, from now, the four of us are "alone" at home, which means that, while my husband is working, I am on my own minding two kids.

So far we had the invaluable help of my mother, Abu. She came in mid-July and has been with us 24 hours each day. But she also has her life, her stuff, her home, her routine and  I can not keep her here until my children become independent, so she goes home and gets back her day and I have to learn to deal alone in this new facet of mother of two children.

The key is organization, isn't it? I've made a list of things I have to do tomorrow, Liam's backpack is ready and I set the alarm much earlier than usual to give me time to have a shower and a coffee before my kids open their eyes. Tell me I'm on the right way, I need to hear it!

However, I suspect that the key to success here lies in accompanying these "to do lists" with  a good pinch of patience and optimism, seeing the glass half full and do not try to be superwoman. Is this possible?

And as I write this, my sister and brother in law are on their way to the honyemoon; a trip well deserved. I'm happy for them and I also confess that I am dying of envy! I love you guys!!
